Cremated Remains Disposer
To register as a Cremated Remains Disposer, you must be 18 years or older and submit the following:
- Submit a completed registration form and the required filing fee.
- Include a description of what method you plan to use to dispose of the cremated remains. If using a boat or aircraft include boat/aircraft description and identification, plus registration and documentation number. Aircraft must have a valid certification by the Federal Aviation Administration. Boats must be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles or be documented by a federal agency, as appropriate. Indicate area(s) to be served.
- Submit a copy of your completed request for live-scan service forms, along with this application, verifying that fingerprints have been scanned and all applicable fees have been paid.
Mail your completed application with the appropriate fee payable to the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau to: P.O. Box 989003, West Sacramento, CA 95798-9003, or Priority Mail: 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite S-208, Sacramento, CA 95834.

All Cremated Remains Disposer licenses expire on September 30th of each year.
The license term is one year.
Business and Professions Code section 7672.7 requires each Cremated Remains Disposer to file a report on the Bureau's form each year by September 30th.
Please note a Cremated Remains Disposer registration cannot be renewed until a completed annual report for the fiscal year ending on June 30th is filed with the Bureau.
